At placeandtime.com, people tell their stories in the form of chronicles. The basic element of a chronicle is the "post". A chronicle may have any number of posts created by any number of members. Every post is marked for a specific "place" and "time" and all of these intersect in a searchable database so that you may easily discover stories, photos and authors at places and times that are important to you. This search panel will allow you to "go to" any place and time and find the chronicles, posts, pictures or members who have threaded through there. You may preset the search panel to find "chronicles" , "all posts" or just "pictures".
Quick instructions:
- Please enter a "Country" first.
- Next type in the City/County you would like to search. As you type you will be shown a list of possibilities so you may complete-by-click.
- If a City or County name is found in multiple States, you will be shown a list. Select the one you want.
- If you want to narrow your search to a particular period of time for that place, you may enter a decade, year, month or day.
- If you want to narrow your search to return only content containing certain words, type those words in the text field.
- Note: If you leave any field blank the search engine will give you all of the content for that parameter. For example leaving the city/county field blank will bring up content for all cities in that state. Leaving both city and state blank will bring up all content for the entire country. Leaving the time field blank will bring up all times, etc. To be sure that all search terms have been cleared from a field, click the "x" in that field.
- Search results will initially be sorted by time, oldest first, however you may re-sort them by "place", "title" or "date created".
