USA Military Support Programs

Placeandtime.com is pleased to announce a program in partnership with eMail Our Military

The program extends the good work done by the Washington Post Faces of the Fallen program.

The primary aim of this partnership is twofold:

1) To invite and encourage those who knew these fallen heroes to create a placeandtime chronicle of their lives so that we all may see and so that there is an enduring record of how they lived -  not just how they died.

2) To encourage family, friends and community to create on-going chronicles of the lives of loved ones and home town activities in support of those men and women in active service to their country.

How it works (please register first if not already a member)

For Fallen Heroes:

a) See our List of Fallen Heroes  (temporary procedure to find a particular person: 1. select "Search Posts", 2. clear the Country field by clicking the "x", 3. insert last name of person in text field and 4. select "Go There".)

b) If a "Life" chronicle has been started for any individual, you will find a link to it there.

c) If there is no chronicle started or if you wish to start one yourself, simply do so.  Then paste the link into the comment section for that individual.

d) Use the sharing and emailing functions to circulate your chronicle throughout the community and to those who knew the individual. Chronicles can be set so that others may contribute thier own posts or so that they are limited to comments only.

For Active Service Men and Women.

a) Search by name or hometown

b) If there is no chronicle already started and you wish to start one, simply do so.

c) Use the sharing and emailing fucntions to circulate your chronicle to Family, Friends and Community.

About PlaceandTime.com

As our tag line states, "This is the Place to tell Your Stories".

Why?  Placeandtime.com has originated the on-line chronicle as a powerful story-telling and sharing format.  A chronicle can be thought of as a book cover and description that comes to life by the inclusion of posts, rich with photos or videos, created by you or by your group or community. Chronicles can be created for any of life's activities.

By strict enforcement of "place" and "time" tagging, your stories stay coherent even though they may be created over time or by collaboration with others.  Remembering things by places and times is very fundamental to people everywhere. Your stories are on-line and enduring and remain very discoverable and intersting to others who have crossed those places amd times.

The placeandtime site has a growing commuity and very easy sharing mechanisms. We monitor your favorite chronicles, favorite members and favorite places-and-times. We let you know when new content has arrived or when anyone comments to your work.  A unique member rating and filtering system is intended to insure appropriate content.
